Here is a photo of the geologic time scale. There's also a link below to a video explaining how life on earth has changed over time.

How have different species adapted to climate change on earth?
- Plants and animals have adapted to different environments for millions of years. Depending on the type of species, some adapt to warmer, and others adapt to cooler climates. The species may struggle to adapt to a newer climate at first, but they get used to it.
Why certain species become extinct in times of environmental distress:
- The main reason that species become extinct is because of habitat loss.
- Clearing forest/ cutting down trees
- Turning grasslands into farming areas
- Putting human structures in the natural environment of a species
How organisms phenotype and genotype determine its ability to adapt:
-An organisms genotype is the set of genes responsible for a particular trait, phenotype is the physical expression of that trait. These determine its ability to adapt because of natural selection. Natural selection is the differential survival and reproduction of individuals with certain traits. This occurs when individuals in a population differ in their ability to survive and reproduce.
How natural selection affects the process of evolution:
Natural selection causes evolution whenever there is genetic variation for traits that affect fitness.
